I want to take the first train to la gare St. Lazare and get lost in Paris

I want to take the first train in the morning to la gare St. Lazare and get lost in Paris.
That was the feeling I got after watching midnight in Paris (for the 3rd time), and made me remember those days where I could take a train of a 1 hour ride to Paris, the city of lights, in the weekend, even though I went many times I never really got to know it completely but I was full of excitement every time I got off at la gare Saint Lazare and started wandering the lovely beautiful baroque streets of this wonderful city, to then submerge into its veins riding the metro.

For those of you who don’t like getting lost and haven’t been to Paris, I assure you in this City, you wouldn’t mind it, in fact, you’d love it, it is beautiful and vibrant, and has the perfect mix of modern culture with the old arquitecture and pretty cafes that take you to another époque. And what’s better than walking the lovely streets while listening to the melodic sound of le français?.

This city is great, and has a lot to offer, way more than the expected cliché, you just gotta open to her and let it surprise you.
I took the photograph I posted on my very first trip to Paris, and it’s one of the ones I love most of all the pictures I’ve ever taken, certainly one of my favourites of all times. I hope you like it as much as I do.
Feel free to use it as you like, I only ask for the credit.

Love, Une Fleur de Lis.

Ps: If you liked this stay tunned for more pictures of Paris during the weekend, im feeling inspired. Also feel free to comment about what you think of this city.

Weekend getaway ..to Music

Coachella Collage

That’s right! I’m going to tell you all about my weekend getaway.

first of all, apologies for not posting this on Monday (I’ve been kind of busy/ uninspired)

Everyone has been familiar with that feeling in the middle of the week when you realize you’ve been working too much, you need a break from you life and you long to go on a weekend getaway to a place where you can go to relax, think of nothing and just rest and breathe, with your mind in blank and no worries, or maybe you expect a little bit of adventure and new discoveries in some exciting place to take off your mind all those projects and wait to be surprised by whatever may come in your way in this place.

Well my weekend getaway was directly and straight to Indio, California…. yes! you guessed right!, it was to Coachella, probably one of the best music festivals around the globe and the one on top of my list! and yeah, I know what you’re thinking how lucky, she got to go there, well I didn’t, I spent all the weekend home watching the festival through YouTube (btw THANKS YT for letting me be there without actually going), and though I was a little upset cause I didn’t go, after watching the first performance I got transported to another world, there is something about live music that I cannot describe precisely with words, it sound much better, with the real emotion the artists are feeling at the time mixed with the vibes of all the audience singing along, it’s not perfectly recorded, it goes with the flow and it forms some kind of pure energy that is contagious, even through my laptop!
You can’t imagine how much i love music, it is what I go to when everything is wrong (I know so cliché) but also when I’m happy, hyper, nostalgic, in love, or just to relax and have a good time, it is something that i just enjoy way too much is like a drug and I’m addicted, so while blasting Coachella from the A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Ben Howard (who by the way if you don’t know who he is, he is to me one of the most talented musicians out there, his performance was perfect! he has a voice so calming and genuine that all you can do is enjoy enjoy and enjoy,) to Of Monsters and Men, Passion Pit, Metric, The Lumineers (Oh my god I loved them, their performance was so energetic even though they play folk rock slash indie, the audience sang along loudly and proudly making a magnificent choir) to Alt-J, who btw i just discovered and he’s great to many more, I’d say that was the perfect getaway to probably my busiest week of the month, and it was as if i was on ecstasy or something, it’s incredible how music can transport you to so many places and make you feel good, i sang like crazy, even danced (obviously i made sure none was watching ’cause that would’ve been kinda embarassing) and I felt GREAT! i can’t imagine how it it would’ve been if I’d actually been there in Indio, between the audience with my camera and some friends i think it would’ve been one of the best weekends of my life, hopefully next year it will be checked on my bucketlist, but until then I’ll listen to my favourite playlists and feel happy while doing it, so my point was that no matter where you are, if you’re a music junkie like me or not you can always and in any moment get away with any kind of music you like. take at least a moment a day to just sit and listen to something you like, even trying to discover something new, believe me, when you discover new really good music it feels like you  have just found a treasure and you’ll want to hold on to it as much as you can.

Meanwhile I’ll leave you a link below to one of the Lumineers songs performing at Coachella I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, this one’s Stubborn Love.

International Families

Amazing piece! It was deliciously pleasant to read

Travel Unites

“You are still young, free. Do yourself a favor. Before it’s too late, without thinking too much about it first, pack a pillow and a blanket and see as much of the world as you can. You will not regret it. One day it will be too late.”
―Jhumpa Lahiri, The Namesake

How international is your family? Do you have personal knowledge about whether the United States is better described as a Melting Pot or a Tossed Salad?

The small Midwestern town I grew up in seemed quite homogeneous and “vanilla.” Only later did I realize my home town had an unusual concentration of Slavic, Welsh, and Scottish names. Since no one knew the word ethnic in the 50’s and 60’s, we just knew that people ate different things for the holidays, and some families had many more letters in their names than others.

But perhaps your parents came here…

Love ?

Funny how the heart can be deceiving
More than just a couple times
Why do we fall in love so easy
Even when it’s not right.

yep that’s the song try by Pink! (who i actually love) ever thought how all of her songs have a deep meaning and are from her actual real experiences? … anywaay back to the point, the thing is i’ve been thinking about love and all those decicions we make when we are in this rare situation, how we think the person we are with is perfect or at least perfect for us and then you fall out of it or just end that chapter of you life for whatever reason and you discover he/she wasn’t that perfect but you can’t still take them of your mind because you just don’t fall out of love from one day to another it ain’t that simple even when you shouldn’t have fell in the first place because it wasn’t right at that moment, and you keep on thinking about it, imagining things, making up  stories in your head and keep accumulating feelings and negative emotions towards the situation even towards the other person but  whe you finally get that it was just an experience you had to go through and tha person came in and out of your life for a reason and at the perfect time you can let go , forgive and leave it there, in the past as a good memorie of what it was, because why remember all the bad things? it just won’t let you move on with your life and when you leave things at peace you can move on and be happy, open for the next big thing for you. so yes we fall in love easy,  we must be able to keep on doing that because it is all part of life and our essence as humans when we love its pure and beautiful and yes, everything comes at a price but without all the sadness and everything else that may com out of love we wouldn’t feel the joy of love at its finest. And hey! you can find love everywhere and in everyone not just who you’re/was in love with, remember that Love actually, is all around ❤.

Honesty is important, honestly!

I appreciate honesty. I very much appreciate honesty actually.

And why is it so hard for anyone to just be  honest? because honestly that would make things so much easier, better and kick off hypocrisy out of the way, which is the thing i hate most in this life (besides waiting, flying insects and assholes) .

I know, you must be thinking what the heck is wrong with me, or why am i so upset about this.

Well lately I’ve

Image been thinking a lot about this whole thing, and yes, of course there’s a particular reason for this.

I am a person with a lot of friends, i know, real ones are counted with the fingers on your hand and that little particular group is kind of falling apart, yes i know! this shouldn’t be happening is not like we are kids in high school anymore at least not this childish way. Turns out that while i was still away on exchange about almost a year ago my friends started to have problems and taking sides til now where our group is separated in two, and i came down by the conclusion that it was all because of hypocrisy and lack of honesty, if someone did anything that bothered the others they would not say anything and later bitch about it and criticize people instead of just talking about it and resolving the fucking problem. You see, the thing that happens when you don’t talk about something is that you stay apart and start making your own ideas of the situation and even the other’s person perspective and you just start believing that til you realize, that little problem became a huge war for what may be a very stupid thing, even a misunderstanding, but the problem with this people is that if you ask them they don’t say what they think, and yes sometimes you don’t want to say anything for the fear of maybe being too honest, but still i think that’s the only way to get out of any conflict you may as well take the chance at least everything would be said and on the table.

there’s a lot of reasons why i prefer honesty, not only in this case but always, in every aspect of your life, it just makes it less complicated, much less complicated believe it. whether it is being honest with yourself, with a friend in a bad situation, with a boss, a partner, your boyfriend/girlfriend, your wife your kid, anyone it is 99% of the times best to be honest.

I decided that i cannot expect honesty from anyone at least if i’m not honest first, and I’ve been trying my best to be honest at all times, for me its harder when i have to tell someone something that they not might like but its for their own good, you know a bad work or task so they don’t end up making fun of themselves in front of the boss or something like that it’s hard but at the end its for the best, like with my friends i’m honest all the time weather they like what i have to say or not (note: only do this when they ask for it, don’t jump up and attack them unless is a deadly situation) and believe it or not, it has worked great for me, and people really appreciate this from me, so try and do it, weather its on being honest in your CV and skills  with the HR people at an interview, with something you don’t like about your friends behavior, your boyfriend habits, your mother, your colleague and even yourself , you don’t like something say it, you really love something say it louder! please try it. It has saved me so much trouble and unpleasantness and brought me so much peace, well being, and even laughter. Just remember that whatever’s on your mind, it is worth saying.

A Founder's Inspiration

Hello everyone,
So since the inspiration for the name of this blog was my trip to beautiful Italy on March/April last year while I was on exchange in France and attempted to travel as much as I could trhough Europe, though i cannot pick a favourite city Firenze ( or Florence) was certainly one of the mos inspirig ones where the lily flower is very famous, so i thought my first post should be a photo of this wonderful Tuscan City. (Taken from Ponte Vecchio over the Arno River) I know its a bit blurry but you get the idea.
