Hometown Glory

Hometown Glory

Hello everyone,
since I may not have time to write anything this week, I’ll leave you a picture of my hometown, this is the view I get if I walk about 5 minutes up the hill that’s in front of my house.
And oh how I love this city, it’s surrounded by beautiful mountains, can you guess the city? It’s one of the principal cities in México.

What’s the best way to end a long day?

What’s the best way to end a long day?

That’s a question I stumbled into while surfing the net today, and thought of blogging about it, and some of the things I do like listening to a good playlist I named “before bed”, reading a book, stretching or clearing my mind, then I actually forgot to do it but then it came to me, just to be thankful for all you have right know and for all the experiences you’ve had so far, just take a look back, you’ve lived through so much already, good and bad, and I bet the good things you’ve been through are  stronger and totally worth all the little bad ones, cause that’s what they look like compared to the amazing experience of buying your first car, or maybe graduating, getting your first big job, discovering your passion, a special trip with friends, getting to meet the love of your life, a dance performance that you put your heart, time and effort to it or in my case, my whole exchange experience (among others also pretty good things) but more importantly the friends and memories I made there, It actually had been unconsciously on my  mind all week i guess while i was nostalgic taking a look into my travel photos, and I know I talk about this a lot but it just has been amazing! I was out of my comfort zone and far from being too scary it was so exciting the whole time! it was as if i was on extasis during 5 months, anyway back to the point, today we (and by we I mean you, me and the whole world) celebrate the birthday of one of the girls I met during this period of time, so I said happy birthday through facebook as I do most of the time and then she replied (and I’m paraphrasing)    with a thanks, miss you and an Italy again please? and that was all, I’m gonna tell you why this had an impact on me or at least made me thing about this thing I’m blogging about; First of all, if i never even dreamed to be in such amazing places with friends and freedom to go wherever i wanted, less would i have imagined someone from another country would casually say hey lets go to Italy again!, like, in such a casual way, like hey it’s no big deal, yeah whatever Italy, what’s next? South Africa? India?? and that got me to realize how lucky I am to have checked that out of my bucket list, because to a person like me, in my position and lifestyle being able to go overseas it’s not that easy and therefore kind of a big deal, second of all  she wasn’t even one of my closest friends there (though I really like her and I could relate to her in some ways) and the fact that she said that (even though she was drunk) was very comforting, welcomed and just really cool, cause picture this, if we ever stumble upon each other its for sure we are both gonna be excited! at least a bit, cause even though we weren’t bff we shared a lot just by living in the same hall, with the same people, same friends, same experiences and the reminder of that makes the relationship a bit more special than with let’s say your neighbor who has lived for 5 years next to you but you don’t feel excitement when or if you see them pretty much anywhere else.
so she’s a lil’ part of that experience and that makes her special. (by this point I hope she or anybody that knows us don’t see this because goodbye anonymity for me, but if you do please know you have a special place in my heart).

And for the third point all of this made me remember a lot, my great friends I have overseas, the ones I have here, the trips I made in Europe, and America, (and by America I mean the continent) my family, the first kiss, my day dreaming of the Oscars (don’t judge…or do whatever it is what it is right? lol) my dog, having a roof and good food, waking up or falling asleep with the sound of the rain or a palm tree and so on, so at the end of this long day, instead of just listening to some good relaxing tracks, or reading a delightful book, I decided to relax and think of all the things in my life I am grateful for. (and well I did add some music while/after  it), try and do it, you will sure have a good sleep, sweet dreams.

Wine in Firenze

Wine in Firenze

Italy brings back such good memories, I would say it was one of the best trips I’ve ever had, I visited awesome cities along with awesome people, and the unforgettable amazing cuisine, the day I took this picture was pretty relaxed and a friend who was currently living there showed us some of the best restaurants in Florence as well as some sightseeing, and after a long walk we ended up at this place that served only wine and kind of entrees of bread with all kinds of different deliciousness, it was perfect getting to drink as much wine rose as we wanted and delight our palates with this yummies while watching the sun go down above this magical city as we had pleasant conversation between trip buddies.
